LOPPSI 2 : French new offence for identity theft

LOPPSI 2 : création du délit d’usurpation d’identité sur internet > Actualités du Droit- Lamy. 15 december 2010

the new offence is to “use the identity of a third person or to use one or several pieces of data that would allow identification of the person in order to trouble the person or another, or to damage his  honor or reputation”.

there are a maximum of 2 years imprisonment and 20 000 euros of fine

it is the article 2 of the LOPPSI 2 Bill, so far approved by the French Parliament.
