Detica, SOCA and paedophiles

How BAE Systems fights paedophiles and cyber criminals | This is Money. post by Ruth Sunderland, 26 December 2011

An interesting post one year after the controversial report published by Detica on the cost of cybercrime and commissioned by the Cabinet Office in December 2010.

The involvement of a private company in collecting personal data: what were the safeguards put in place? However horrendous is child pornography (and the abuse those increasingly young children suffer is sickening), can it justify private participation? Should our democracy not have a word to say about it, how the justified protection of children should be conducted in compliance with the UK international conventions on HR and fair trials?
